Our Origins
We provide educational support to communities affected by humanitarian challenges, empowering individuals to regain stability and pursue opportunities for growth.
The begining
After 20 years of managing global logistics and projects with a Fortune 500 company, Marelys Garcia left that behind and co-founded a company called Mindslines – a group of collaborators who use their distinct knowledge and experiences to enable professional growth and transformation of their clients. Their team integrates relevant professional experience with humanistic social sciences and neuroscience to generate content and learning experiences with a personalized approach that allow for lasting outcomes. As Mindslines began to grow and receive feedback from their clients, they learned that many of the changes happening in people’s professional lives were also carrying over into their personal lives. Marelys and her team realized that their work could have a bigger impact by bringing their personal stories, knowledge, and learning experiences to open doors to people who would not otherwise have access to these opportunities. So, in 2021, the philanthropic arm of Mindslines was born – Aldaba.
Why Aldaba?
Aldaba means door knocker and we picked this name because it implies that someone is ready to take the first step to making a change. And when someone knocks, we can’t wait to open the door and let them in.

We help
In addition to lacking external resources such as formal education, language barriers, and financial means, many individuals also lack the internal resources to make lasting and meaningful changes in their lives. In minority communities such as immigrants, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, or the elderly, there are under-resourced individuals with additional barriers to overcome. Often, these individuals find that there are neither high-quality, affordable resources available to them, nor providers of these resources who look like them, have shared experiences, and are relatable in meaningful ways. That’s exactly where Aldaba comes in – we provide a multi-faceted learning environment that provides professional and personal growth for individuals in any industry or stage of their life.
